Alabama Tennis Academy - Future Champ Mini Camp for Younger Players

"Tennis is Sportsmanship"

The Alabama Tennis Academy is proud to announce a New Future Champ Mini Camp at the Montgomery Academy for boys and girls ages 6, 7, 8, and 9 years old.

New Dates for the Future Champ Camp: July 14 - 18, 2008

The staff of the Future Champ Mini Camp promises to be the best ever. For the first time, John McWilliams (click here for tennis credentials) will be director of the camp and present for the entire week to oversee the progress of all campers. Staff for the camp includes Laura McLemore, John McWilliams IV, and Leslie Neeland. Future instructors will be added as necessary to keep the camper:instructor ratio at 6:1 and ensure personal attention for all campers.

The Future Champ Mini Camp affords campers the unique experience of developing eye, hand, and foot coordination and teaches sportsmanship and respect for the game of tennis. The camp includes instruction of tennis fundamentals and culminates in a mini-tournament to allow campers the chance to practice playing in a competitive match. Each day, campers begin with an aerobics work out and demonstration from instructors. Campers are divided into small groups and get the chance to practice strokes and perfect their technique. The camp also focuses on teaching campers about the game of tennis; each camper is given a workbook with fun exercises and games that help teach tennis rules and emphasize sportsmanship. Campers are given snacks and have the chance to participate in an arts and crafts activity every day. Cost for the one week camp is $145.
