Dreams & Swords
All books are either dreams or swords,
You can cut, or you can drug, with words.

- Amy Lowell (Sword Blades and Poppy Seeds)

It's a new year and for new news from the Library check out the "New @ the Library" column elsewhere in this issue of the Gargoyle.

Here we want to take a little copy space to remind you about the Library's annual Halloween dinner, which is fast approaching. This year's date is Friday night, October 26, at 6:00. Historically, the dinner has been for first-year students only; however, over the years we have received requests from sophomores, juniors and seniors to attend, so we've decided to make a change. On October 10, we will e-mail invitations to all first-year students, who will have about a week to RSVP. After this deadline whatever seating is left will be opened to sophomores, juniors and seniors. As usual, Frank enjoys seeing what imaginative costumes his guests can come up with (for new students, Frank is the library ghost), and we'll be in costume also. We'll have our traditional Halloween hot meal buffet and hopefully, a surprise or two.
