In model United Nations,
student delegates research and then represent a country in international
debate and legislative forums. They take positions on legal and moral
issues, form coalitions, engage in parliamentary manoevers, conduct diplomacy
and pass resolutions. Debates are based on the issues topical to
each year.
Huntingdon College alumni who were interested in establishing Model UN were Samantha Mosier, James Robinson. and Margaret Enfinger. Margaret went on to a Master's degree at the Diplomatic School of Spain, then a law degree at Alabama. Recent students who have been interested in establishing a model UN have been DJ Watkins and Emily White. Emily in April 2008 established a new Facebook page for Model United Nations at Huntingdon.
