This is lovely weather for October: warm (50s F) and sunny, with no snow on the deck.

From the Nordic Ski Lodge, looking down the glacial valley.

Volcanic rock makes a messy but effective road down the mountain.
Many roads in Alaska are washed out by spring floods, and float planes are very common for transport.
