Ellen Brooks, "Justice under the Constitution,"
28 April 2004, notes by Jeremy Lewis .

Definition of Justice changes over time and not always predictable.

Easier to find examples of not justice than justice. Ethics better term for justice.
Legal, biblical and everyday definitions do not always coincide. Brooks definition: if embarrassed to have preacher or press discuss her work critically, don't do it.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice anywhere -- MLK.
Most criminal cases don't start out with intent to break law. Death penalty moratorium issue now
-- but only 28 people executed in 28 years since reinstatement.  Study and argument healthy but why stop system when people hurting on both sides.
Do you prosecute if belief people innocent? Running for office with lawyers' contributions Sentencing changes -- treatment rather than punishment for addicts, issue. ------- Question Time  -----------
Arcade games being replaced by check cashing. Const'l amendment for victims' rights Takes well known tragedy to change criminal laws.
Prosecution of multi-jurisdictional cases -- e.g. DC snipers -- --------- closing -- ------
Justice is a decision made everyday by you -- who you elect or support, write a new paper instead of borrowing one, make the best decision you can.  Psalm: stand up against the workers of iniquity.
