Amanda Blessing, a political science and English major from Fairhope, was a member of Freshman Forum, and HC cheerleader.  She is a sister of Alpha Omicron Pi.  In spring 2006 she travelled with HC to London and Oxford for seminars in British Politics.  In 2007 she took a managerial position with the YMCA of South Alabama.

Patrick Dean, a political science major from Gulf Shores, a frequent member of the Dean's List of High Honors, and winner of the Political Science award.  As a freshman, he served the Football team as a running back, #1; since then he has served as Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity officer.  In spring 2005, he worked on the FRAMP, a faculty-student research project on terrorism materials. Patrick participated in the Great Decisions in foreign policy program, '04, and has won the Political Science award.  In his spare time, Patrick runs a successful small beach business in Gulf Shores.  He wrote a senior capstone paper on comparative health care systems.  He travelled with HC to Bavaria in May '07.

Adam Farquhar, an International Studies major from Mobile, won the International Studies award.  On the men's soccer team (R Mid - R Def), he also plays guitar and tuba, as a classic rocker.  He travelled to Paris to march in the band at a New Year's parade, and in spring 2005, he worked on the FRAMP, a faculty-student research project on terrorism materials.  In 2006 he travelled to Beijing to learn Chinese.  He travelled with HC to Bavaria in May '07.

Tyler Fletcher, a political science major from Lawrenceville  GA, was Georgia all-state tight end, and played in #88, on HC Football's first string. In spring 2005, he worked on the FRAMP, a faculty-student research project on terrorism materials. In spring 2006 he travelled with HC to London and Oxford for seminars in British Politics.

R. J. Walker Garrett, a political science major and Business administration minor, from Columbus, GA.  A frequent Dean's List of High Honors award winner, and winner of the Political Science award, Walker participated in the USAFA assembly '04 on global governance, and the great decisions in foreign policy program, '04. A tennis player, Walker is a Goldwater enthusiast, and took an internship with the Georgia Superior Court. Walker hopes to take up the family plantation house and renovate it.  He was one of 24 presidential classroom honors graduates around the nation for 2002.  In summer 2005 he interned with a stockbroker; he hopes to make his pile in business and become a US Senator in 2024. Meanwhile, he has served as a Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity officer.  In spring 2005, he worked on the FRAMP, a faculty-student research project on terrorism materials.  He wrote his senior capstone paper on the decline of the British and southern US aristocracies.  In spring 2006 he travelled with HC to London and Oxford for seminars in British Politics.  Walker, who graduated magna cum laude, will be attending Mercer Law School, Georgia (his top choice) in Fall of 07.

Member of AOII, active in Republican politics and in a political communications internship.  Worked on the Mitt Romney  for President campaign, via a position as executive assistant to the President of the Austin Group, LLC. Which is a PR and Lobbying firm here in Montgomery.  She enjoyed travel with HC to Bavaria in May '07.

Felix Parker, a political science major from West Blockton HS, is a basketball player, active in politics in the Democratic party, an RA in dorms, and MANE volunteer of year.  In summer 2005, Felix introduced his grandfather, the first elected black official in his county, for an award of the AL Democratic council.  (The pledge was given by Joey Hollis '04).  He travelled with HC to Bavaria in May '07, and enjoyed Munich and the Rhein cruise.

Felix in December '07 accepted a job at the Alabama Democratic Party here in Montgomery. He is in charge of establishing a working relationship with 26 counties in the south eastern part of Alabama, stemming from his home county of Bibb to Houston county.

Ryan Rice, a political science major from Decatur, GA, is a baseball pitcher.  He travelled with HC to Bavaria in May '07, and quickly found a paralegal position with with McCullough, Payne & Haan -- a law firm in Atlanta, involved in Commercial Lending as well as Creditors Rights and Bankruptcy.

Alexander "Al" Zachos, a political science and history double major from Enterprise, has won the Political Science (and History) awards annually, and appeared regularly on the Dean's List.  Having played men's Soccer and tennis, he is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. In spring 2005, he worked on the FRAMP, a faculty-student research project on terrorism materials.  In spring 2006 he travelled with HC to London and Oxford for seminars in British Politics.  He graduated summa cum laude in both History and Political Science, only the second student ever to achieve it.

 "Zachos sports a 4.0 grade point average while majoring in both history and political science. During his soccer playing career, Zachos appeared in 55 games, starting 31, while recording eight assists and one goal. In 2004, he was named the Men’s Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year and has earned all-academic honors from the conference for three consecutive seasons. During his final season with the tennis team, he posted a 7-8 singles record, playing primarily at the No. 2 position, and a 9-5 doubles record." -- HC news

He travelled with HC to Bavaria in May '07, and continued on across Europe, including the ancestral home in Greece.  In summer 2007, he worked for Sasser, Bolton (a legal firm) before finding a position with the Governor's office as Executive Planning Analyst for the SMART department.
