How political beliefs are infuenced by family, can be great.  Having two senator in family background, has impacted her greatly.  One of which openly critized the Klu Klux Klan, more than likely costing him the pres..  In 1993 while praticing with father in private pratice, she was given the opportunity to prosecute a civil rights case.  This particular case was discrimination against a black woman working for wal mart.  Ms.  Roberson was very willing to work, and did alot of manual labor even though she was hired as a sales associate.  After four years she had not been premoted as she had hoped, to a manageral position.  Later eleven more people came to her asking her to represent them, and she did for free.
what you need in this type of case is "a smoking gun".  They were suing for punative damages,  some of the cases where dismissed.  They did find the smoking gun, an employee saying she had heard the manager in question using the work nigger refereing to another manager of African American decent.  Four of the cases did go before the jury.   Ms. Roberson was the only one who won, after the jury delberated for ten hours.  She won 300,000, of which 250,000 was punative.  Later the punitative was disallowed leaving her 50,000 after six years.  Wal mart then while these cases where in court, began a big PR campaign.  Showing blacks smiling and working for them happily.  In 2000 elected to district court of Montgomery.  In 1990 ran for civil court, not successfully.  Campaigning difficult in the 1990 election having to base it solely on character.  In civil court, she sees a large number of civil and criminal case.  This branch is the lowest court in the state branch, but she feels most important.  Alot do not have attorneys so it is her job to see that that get a fair say; something a lawyer would typically do.  Experience has taught her to look out for the common man, being in the small claims court(under 10,000 dollars).  At times she amends the complaint for the illerate persons filing, alot of times opposed by the defense.  Once more looking out for the common man.  Title 7 is based on discrimination in the work place.  Which is what she argued.  Have to explain discrimination was around those protected cases (race, religion, etc) The complaint must also be dealing with something done through an adminstrative decision.  ( hiring, firing, etc)
